Victory in New Mexico for Disabled Archers !!!!

On September 23, 2004, the New Mexico Wildlife Commission voted unanimously to approve the use of crossbows for disabled hunters. For the minutes of this meeting, please see Page 20 of this source: http://www.wildlife.state.nm.us/commission/minutes/documents/2004-09-23.pdf

Based on this vote, the New Mexico law has been changed to read the following:

"Crossbow: It shall be unlawful to use a crossbow to take protected species, except by a licensee that has been approved by the department utilizing the proper department form and is certified by a licensed physician that the licensee has a permanent mobility limitation."

This is an amendment to 19.31.10 NMAC, Sections 7, 15, 16, 17, 20 and 21. Effective date is 4-1-2005.
